A Comparison of Traditional and Contemporary Buildings by Energy Efficiency and Greenhouse Gas Emission: A Case-Study from Tabriz-Iran

It is evident upon a comparison between the examples of contemporary and traditional buildings that climate-responsive building design strategies finds increasingly lesser use in architectural designs culture has begun to disappear. Due increasing stock with expansion city centers over years, higher amount energy required for heating, cooling, ventilation, which leads greenhouse gas emission. The ever-increasing emission inevitably involved emerging global climate crisis. present study investigated approaches adopted current Tabriz, Iran. aim was evaluate effect passive system used Tabriz on efficiency analyze terms annual consumption emissions view changing both mechanical terms. results suggested transferring experiences past builders new generations crucially important it necessary reduce newly constructed by means regulations standards as promulgated government.
